We recently held a 1st degree which brought 10 new Brothers into our Lodge. Can any of us remember the day we were initiated? The Degree of Entered Apprentice is the first of three doors which enables a new Brother to catch an insight as to the beauty of the Craft and how it can affect their lives, here, at the beginning of his search of Masonic light. My Brothers, we must continue to travel on our own paths towards Masonic truth and light. Review the lectures of each degree in order to reacquaint ourselves with the greatness of our ritual. It is in the ritual that we find the great value of our Brotherhood. We each must strive to learn that which is given us to do regarding the ritual. For through the ritual, the "poor blind candidate" is introduced to the Lodge and to the Craft. Well done and proper ritual brings Brothers out for a degree, and gives all the participants a since of pride in his accomplishment.
Our Lodge is growing, and we need to continue building on the work of those who have gone this way before us.

Brothers,
I write this before the big snow storm that is supposed to hit us this weekend. Having always enjoyed snow, my family and I are really looking forward to the fun that the snow brings. I hope that you and your family enjoy it as much as we do, especially during the Christmas week.
Speaking of Christmas, I want to thank those Brothers who were able to help me with my law firm's food drive. It is with your help that we were able to help so many families enjoy their holiday season. I hope that next year we will be able to do one as a Lodge. There are so many families that need help after the holidays.
On the scholarship front, please send me your opinions and or suggestions regarding the 2010 scholarship. Last year we were able to help a graduating senior at Oyster Bay High School.
